What to Expect at the A.C.S. Organic Chemistry Exam 2020

What to Expect at the A.C.S. Organic Chemistry Exam 2020This article will discuss what to expect at the A.C.S. organic chemistry exam 2020. This is a good opportunity for you to get prepared for the A.C.S. exam. The exam will start on the Monday of September 22nd. The testing schedule has been changed to allow time for students to prepare for the exam. It is best if you can study online and when you do so, make sure you focus on A.C.S. substance Chemistry. You can also practice with real test questions and practice material to help you with your study habits.Different areas are covered in the exam. You will be asked to identify numbers and letters for simple compounds, ions, acids, bases, and ketones. The examiner will make a reference to the classic texts or labs that have been used in chemistry to answer your questions. These reference materials are called CAS lists. There are many exams around the world, but this one is unique because of the length. In fact, many other exams are two and a half hours long. However, with the shorter exam, you are getting to the material faster, which means you won't be as tired after completing the exam. Some people take an extra hour out of their exam because of their lab's room. You can have a great time during your exam if you can take a break for five minutes. If you feel that you can only stay awake for an hour or two, try taking a nap.You should take some extra supplements before the exam. These include Vitamin C and magnesium. You should be aware that this exam is extremely difficult. However, it is also one of the most important ones to take since you will be deciding whether you get into an advanced chemistry program or not.

Transverse and Longitudinal Waves

Transverse and Longitudinal Waves What are Longitudinal Waves and Transverse Waves? And What is the Difference Between Them? ChaptersFirstly, What is a Wave?Longitudinal Waves and Transverse Waves. What are Transverse Waves?Examples of Transverse Waves. What are Longitudinal Waves?Examples of Longitudinal Waves. What are Surface Waves? In our article on the properties of waves, we discussed the huge importance of waves for our lives and our technologies. Our bodies are developed to use sound waves to detect vibration around us and to hear with. Our eyes use light waves to turn a reflection of an object into an image that we understand. Meanwhile, we have developed radio waves â€" which are a type of light â€" in order to transmit information remotely, whilst we can now harness the energy from water waves for our society’s use.Alongside these quite useful waves, there are the seismic waves that are unleashed by earthquakes and volcanoes. The electromagnetic waves that are produced by the interaction of a magnetic field and an electric field. And the waves that are the basic fact of fun things like trampolines and a Mexican wave.Waves are all around us, in places that we may never have expected. It is therefore so important that we take the time to understand what the hell these things actually are: how they work, their main features and properties, and the main characteristics that their different types exhibit. The latter is what we are going to be doing here. We’ll focus on the two main types of wave â€" longitudinal and transverse â€" and show you the different places in which you can find each. We’ll point you in the direction of surface waves â€" a combination of the two â€" whilst we’re here.We hope you find it interesting!have to be regular in their disturbance; andtransfer energy from point to point.A Note on Electromagnetic Waves.Mechanical waves need a material medium to disturb â€" otherwise they could not propagate. They transfer energy through material, whether solid, liquid, or gas. However, there’s another type of wave that we are forgetting â€" and that’s the elec tromagnetic wave. These guys â€" such as visible light, radio waves, ultraviolet, and gamma rays â€" can happily travel through a space with no material medium. Like a vacuum, or like outer space. This makes the notion of the disturbance or displacement a bit hard to grasp. Because, how can there be a displacement if there is nothing â€" literally no material â€" to displace? Good question â€" and this has bothered scientists too.Back in the mid-nineteenth century, James Clerk Maxwell, a scientist famous for what are known as Maxwell’s equations, figured that electromagnetic waves are disturbances that are propagating in the magnetic field. So, they are disturbances just as earthquake waves are, but they happen in a completely different sort of medium to the one that we call ‘matter’.Find out all about reflection and refraction! A diagram of an electromagnetic waveLongitudinal Waves and Transverse Waves. So, now that we have cleared that up, let’s move on to the real content of this article â€" the nature of and difference between the longitudinal wave and the transverse wave.Do you have any idea of this difference? If you’ve read our article, What are Waves?, you might well be on the money. Yet, here we’re going to take it in a little more detail. The difference between longitudinal and transverse waves is all about the wave motion â€" namely the way in which the waves oscillate. If a wave produces material movement that is perpendicular to the direction of the energy transfer, we call this sort of wave transversal. If the movement is rather parallel to the direction of transferred energy, we call the wave longitudinal. For clarity, let’s take these one at a time. What are Transverse Waves? If there were such a thing as a ‘classic’ wave, it would be the transverse wave. These are the familiar sorts o f waves that we study in diagrams. We do this because the transverse waves are the easiest waves to visualise â€" as they demonstrate a polarization which we can see extending into space.Think of a skipping rope. As you flick it, a visible wave travels from your hand down the length of the rope. This is a transverse wave. The scientific definition for a transverse wave is that their displacement of the medium is at right angles to the direction of energy transmission. Thinking of the skipping rope again, that means that the visible wave travels ‘up and down’, the energy travels down the length of the rope.Get a math and physics tutor here now.Peaks and Troughs. We call the highest point of a wave â€" that moment of maximum displacement of the medium â€" in a transverse wave the ‘peak’ when it is ‘up’ and a ‘trough’ when it is ‘down’.Consequently, with a transverse wave, we can easily measure the wave’s wavelength as well as its amplitude. ‘Easily’ at least th eoretically. Because, again, you can see the distance between the peaks (through which we measure the length of the wave’s oscillation, or its wavelength) as well as the distance between the peaks and the wave’s rest position (the amplitude of the wave). Both of these â€" wavelength and amplitude â€" can tell us the amount of energy being transferred in the wave. What is a wave? (image from edraw)If you were to measure the amplitude or frequency and wavelength of a longitudinal wave, you would take the measurement from the points of highest compression.Examples of Longitudinal Waves. So, apart from the slinky (which can, incidentally, also facilitate transverse waves), what other examples of longitudinal waves are there? You won’t be surprised to hear that there are loads.Sound waves are perhaps one of the most important â€" or at least are one of the most convenient examples. They travel through air well, but actually travel faster through liquids and solids â€" as the medium is denser, meaning that there can be greater compressions of its particles. What are the parts of waves? What are Surface Waves?By the way, there is a third type of wave that you might want to know about. These are surface waves â€" like the famous ocean waves â€" which play out on the interface between two media. They are actually the combination of both longitudinal waves and transverse waves. Just so you know!Find out about sound and sound waves!

English Homework Help Online Will Guide You to Build a Strong Base in English

English Homework Help Online Will Guide You to Build a Strong Base in English Today every parent makes it a priority to enroll their child in any English medium school. The ones who can speak and write English is considered as the high level students and are given much importance in the entire world. The ones who lack this portion in themselves are considered as a backward student. Various companies make it a point to hire the English speaking people only as they know that they can spread their arms out of the national horizon as well. The availability of jobs also raise up if you are well versed with English. English is divided into two divisions- one is English literature and the other part is English language or the grammar part. Literature is related with novels, stories, poems and so on. It is an interesting part and I love to read on various types of novels, stories and so on. It helps in creating a base over the subject and also you get to know so many fictional and no fictional stories as well. It develops a kind of interest in the minds of the reader related with the topic. But the language part is hard core grammatical part in which you being a student have to deal with various types of nouns, pronouns, prepositions, verbs, adverbs and so on. It makes the sense of your English stronger and deeper. If you have a strong base over the subject then it is just because of the fact that you had a good foundation over your grammar and you learnt the subject pretty well. The learning of the language helps in making your life easier and also helps you in near future. Attaining knowledge is easy if you have extra support by your side and that extra support can be available only through the help of good private tuitions that are available. The private tutors are a great help for those students who cannot grasp every kind of detail that the school delivers to them. The problems that arise cannot be solved by the student all alone and thus so they need good teachers who will help them in making the language to be stronger than before and also error free. But the problem with today’s children is that they are engaged in many other extra co curricular activities and thus this makes a big problem for them to attend the private tuition classes properly and without missing them. For such problems also there is a way out and that is none other than newly introduced online teaching institutes. What is online tutoring? Online way is the easiest and the most convenient way for today’s youngsters. Every child now knows how to operate a system and how to get into the internet world. When internet was launched very few had the idea that it would be so huge and everything can be possible with just a click of yours. Online tutors are also a new part of the internet world in which the teachers of various subjects are available over internet. There are some institutes that gather the best teachers and with full efficiency deliver the tuition classes via online way. Online way is through video conferencing, tele conferencing and also via online chatting as well. This process of teaching is best as well as effective as it consumes less time and it is also convenient for the students as they do not have to move here and there for getting the tuition classes. English learning is very important in the present era as every job of yours demands good ability to speak and write error free English. A good school can provide you with this, but apart from the school it is important that you should have some other help as well who will detect your mistakes, correct them and will help you with some further help as well. The extra support helps you to give the most out a student. The online tutors helps in detecting the problems of the student regarding the subject and then they make a structured process through which the whole learning process can be accessed as it builds depth for the subject among the students. For me it is quite a trendy and an easy way through which a student can be mostly benefitted and can move ahead in life with the subject beside you. Some more facts about e-learning institutes The entire process of providing the classes is taken over by the professional teachers who have massive knowledge over the subject and which can help a student also to develop same amount of knowledge over the subject that the e-teacher has in him or her. With the individual student being entertained by the individual teacher it is very comfortable for the student to get the depth of the subject and know the subject on a much wider term. There are many institutes that can help you to get good facilities with the e-learning pattern, but very few are there who claims to provide you with the best services. TutorPace is an online learning institute that has good teachers and also has some better advantages that other institutes may not be able to provide and one among them is the homework help that TutorPace provides you. It can help you during your assignments, preparing you for your tests and even it can help you at the time of your homework. As every subject has brilliant teachers for it so it is not at all a big problem for them. Just for example you will have the service of English homework help online service that will help a student during the time of solving homework tiff as well. You can have a look in their site and then you can know better which e-learning institute to go for. Te rates are also considerably cheap than the other institutes and the facilities that it provides is of high class. Weak students become one of the strong students regarding the subject.

He was grievously injured one night, after karaoke and, when he woke up, he discovered he saw the world through an intricate filter of  geometrical patterns.Prior to that, he was quite happy as a furniture salesman with no desire to even consider the shape of furniture, let alone drawing any.We do not encourage getting beaten into savant syndrome to gain the same perspective as Mr. Padgett.Instead, you could just enjoy his geometric patterns, most drawn in a one point perspective. Here is a bit more on the unique Mr. Padgett, who before had never had the faintest interest in anything academic, let alone maths. He started drawing what he was seeing and, curiously enough, he attracted the attention of the scientific community. The consensus : everyone unanimously agrees that every bit of his line drawings and other renderings were geometrically accurate and depict mathematical equations.Today, this amazing artist continues to draw mathematically satisfying   artistic equations that are the envy of every geometry professor. For many of us, his work remains among the finest expressions of symmetrical art.Surely you know of the premier example of such?It would be Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, a pen and ink on paper, which, incidentally is the basis for validation of the value phi, also known as the perfect proportion or the golden ratio.Whether through art or maths, learn what jobs you can land if you can draw...Start drawing better by taking the new drawing lessons here. Can you spot the horizon line in this landscape? Consciously or not, everyone who is any kind of an artist, from cartoonist and manga to portrait painter and architect, seeks to find and recreate this mathematical value in art simply by following their artistic sense. We find the golden proportion in the columns of the Parthenon, and the structures of Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright.Gra phic designers have appropriated this perfect proportion, that you will find among the most famous company logos, in particular the famous apple's Apple. Not to mention the National Geographic logo. You know, the yellow rectangle, hard to make simpler ... Top Five Things To Look for In An Online Algebra Tutor

Top Five Things To Look for In An Online Algebra Tutor Maths is always a matter of concern for maximum parents. Students generally develop a phobia for the numbers and it becomes more traumatic for students when alphabets are added onto them in the middle school. Get help of online algebra tutor to overcome this fear. There are very less number of pupils who actually enjoy this section of maths. Even if the students have a lending hand for homework, maths often becomes a problem for them. This is because; this particular subject needs some definite logic behind making it understandable. It would be beneficial for the student if he/she gets a good guidance from a professional. These numbers with alphabets often become nightmare for students. Therefore, the parent must appoint a perfect professional in this field to make it beneficiary for the student. However, the parents must keep in mind before appointing them for their kids. In this rush of knowing everything, students are also over-scheduled with their tasks. Regular classes in school with extracurricular activities, any child does not really have a quality time to study. But, unfortunately one has to run to be successful in the near future. An online algebra homework help can be very beneficial for students in mid school. There are certain aspects that need to be kept in mind before appointing an online tutor. The First Ladder To Success In #Algebra Is Right Tutor http://t.co/WHQqrujiah #backtoschool pic.twitter.com/RyHhluTBVn â€" Tutor Pace (@TutorPace) September 2, 2015 Five such important points are: The teacher should have a background on maths or science and not any other arts major. You also need to find out whether the teacher has any definite experience or not on being a  online algebra tutor. All the more, it should be noted whether the teacher has fine techniques of teaching. However, many teachers holding big degrees in maths and having done specialization on algebra may not be of great help to the students. Whereas, somebody who knows the basics of algebra can make a student absolutely phobia less in this subject for the rest of their lives. The teacher should also be flexible in changing their techniques while teaching. These online tutors are also handy for the college students who are doing a specialization paper on algebra. They may appoint a good professional for algebra assignment help. They can be guided for their assignments, dissertation papers and for seminars through these online tutors. The next point is to note whether the teacher has right access to online teaching. The tutor should have advanced software to be accessible to students. Will they be able to conduct online tests? Will they be accessible when the student needs help with his/her homeworks? Or whether they can provide your child with proper chat room that may help in the learning process etc.? There should also be safety assurance from the tutor to the child. Parents should be properly acquainted with the background of the teacher before the teacher comes in contact with the child. There are also rules where the parents can undergo solid character check before appointing them for the students. The fees that becomes the major issue in these online courses, needs to be handled carefully. There are many such fraud cases that gets reported with the names of online teaching. Therefore, the students , if matured enough and understands the online payment procedures should handle it very carefully only after getting proper authentication. If they are unable to understand that, they may take the help of their parents to ensure a secured payment.

What To Know About The Writing Section Of The ACT

What To Know About The Writing Section Of The ACT The ACT Plus Writing includes an optional supplement to the standard exam. The half-hour test assesses your writing skills especially those writing skills emphasized in your high school English courses and in entry-level college composition classes. Well go over if you should register to take the additional Writing Test, what the prompt looks like, how to optimize your exam grade, and exactly what the ACT scorers are looking for when they read your essay. If you think you need additional assistance, you may want to contact an ACT tutoror review an ACT prep book. What does the Writing Test look like? The writing portion of the ACT gives a single prompt that describes an issue and the opposing points of view on the subject. You will be asked to state your position and adopt one or more of the stances described in the question. Your score will not be affected by your viewpoint.Since the Writing Test is optional, do I actually need to take it? It depends on where you are applying. Some c olleges and universities have decided to either require or recommend their ACT-taking applicants (as opposed to the SAT) opt for the Writing Test. Others have decided that Writing Test scores are not necessary. In other words, you should decide if you want to take the writing portion based on the requirements of the colleges to which you are applying. For example, Princeton and Yale both require the ACT Plus Writing, while Notre Dame and Johns Hopkins University recommend it, and Georgetown University has decided the supplement is not needed altogether. If you are planning on applying to multiple schools, contact the admissions office or check online to find out their preferences when it comes to the writing exam. Even if they do not require it, most colleges will accept scores from the ACT Plus Writing. But my dream school doesnt require the Writing Test. So do you really, really need to sit through another 30 minutes of the ACT? Unless you think youll do terribly, its safest in the long run to take the writing exam in case you change your mind, apply elsewhere, or are not accepted to your first choice school. If youre planning on applying to school(s) that dont require the writing supplement, but change your mind and decide to apply to one that does, you wouldnt want to have to retake the entire ACT just to include the Writing Test. That said, its best to take the ACT Plus Writing so you are not limiting yourself in the college admissions process. Does it matter when I take it? It actually doesnt - the ACT Plus Writing exam is offered on all national test dates in the United States, US territories, Puerto Rico, and Canada. It is also available on four international test days in other areas, and for Special or Arranged Testing.Does taking the ACT Plus Writing affect the price? Yes. Taking the standard ACT (with no writing) is $34 and taking the ACT Plus Writing is $49.50. The extra price tag includes score reports for up to four colleges when you list a valid code when you register online. However, the extra $15.50 writing exam fee is refundable on request if you are absent or decide to take the standard ACT (with no writing) before test day. What exactly am I being scored on? The ACT raters have a set of criteria that they use to judge each individual essay. Grades are given based on how well you articulate your perspective, use supporting evidence and logic, and maintain an emphasis on your position throughout the essay. Your ability to organize ideas logically and how well you communicate your argument through writing are also judged. How can I optimize my score? Make sure you understand the prompt and the issue at hand its okay to take another minute and reread the question. Be careful when picking a stance and remember that you dont necessarily have to take the position you believe. Instead, argue the perspective that you can give the best evidence for. Before beginning, use your Writing Test booklet to jot down some notes, organize your essay or create a brief outline. Brainstorm some reasons and examples you can use to explain your point of view on the topic. Keep in mind how others could respond to your viewpoint and how you could disprove their arguments. Spending a few minutes planning the layout of your essay ahead of time will help keep you on track and organized while youre writing. In your introduction, explain the issue and your position in a clear and rational way. In the next paragraph or two, elaborate on the topic in a larger context or describe the implications and why it is especially problematical. Be persuasive and address how those in opposition could respond to your viewpoint and provide a convincing counterargument. Stay focused on the subject and present specific examples. Your essay will be stronger if you clarify logical relationships by employing transitional phrases and words, varying sentence structure, and using precise and diverse word choices. Wrap up your essay with a powerful co nclusion that summarizes or reinforces your argument.Time is short on the Writing Test, so make the most of the 30 minutes. While you may also use ACT practice teststo prep for the rest of the exam, don't forget to prepare accordingly for this portion as well. On the test, remember to recheck your work before time is up, and fix any errors in grammar, punctuation, or spelling, and make sure that all words are easy to read.

3 Critical Subjects to Succeed in College Admission

3 Critical Subjects to Succeed in College Admission 0SHARESShare It is often suggested by teachers to students in both school and college that get your fundamentals right. Because subjects may vary in each grade but what remains the same are the basics of any subject. Tutor Pace recommends that it is a prudent practice to understand the fundamentals of 3 critical subjects namely: ‘English, Mathematics and Science’ correctly. These subjects will not only be helpful throughout the entire life-time of the student but also to appear for competitive exams namely: ACT English, ACT Math and ACT Science. All 3 subjects are critical across the student’s entire academic journey because these subjects manifest in various forms in their future life. For instance, without the proper use of English you cannot write effective emails and this hampers your communication skills in the corporate world. There is a saying that â€" “Don’t run away from problems otherwise problems will run after you”. This applies in the life of some students who may think that if they somehow pass the subject and move on to the next class, they can make it to college without knowing the subject well. But it does not work that way! If you don’t get your basics right today â€" tomorrow you will have to work on the same aspects of the subject again and tomorrow it will be more difficult because you have let some fear about the subject occupy your mind. Teaching Children to Revise Work

Teaching Children to Revise Work As a student, part of the process of becoming a better writer is learning to revise ones written work. For many children, revising is difficult, and for good reason, says Eileen Huntington, co-founder of Huntington Learning Center. When a child crafts an essay, for example, he or she invests a lot of energy into collecting his or her thoughts, organizing them, and writing them in a coherent and compelling way. Completing a draft feels like a monumental feat, so its tempting to spell check and call it done, but revising is a critical part of the writing process. Huntington encourages parents to work with their children on revising their written workand to talk with them about what revising actually means. Here are five ways to help your child revise well: Explain that revision is different than proofreading or editing. As your child becomes a more experienced writer, he or she must learn to understand the differences between revision and proofreading or editing. Revision addresses organization, focus and purpose, and helps a writer assess whether he or she addresses an audience appropriately and explains his or her thoughts clearly and logically. Editing is the process of reviewing a piece for errors, word choice, clarity, tone and the like. Proofreading is the final quality check for correct spelling and proper punctuation and capitalization. Break writing into steps. Young students are taught that writing involves developing an idea and putting it on paper. But advanced writers understand that a finished piece should be polishedan impossibility if that piece has not been carefully revised at least once. Your child should think of the writing process as six separate steps, each of which is important: Planning/outlining Writing Revising Editing Proofreading Final read-through Think big picture. Adding or deleting words isnt revising. Discuss your childs written work on a conceptual level. If he or she is trying to convince the reader of something in an essay, it is important to ask pertinent questions when revising that essay. Is the argument well thought out? How did he or she support that argument? Is there information in the essay that, at second look, does not need to be there? Overall, revision is about making writing stronger. Show your child how to revise. Read a newspaper article or essay with your child (try asking his or her teacher for suggestions, too). Then, ask questionsdid the introduction make you want to keep reading? Was the main point clear? Point out areas you think were confusing or not as strong as they could be, and offer suggestions on how you would try to improve those areas. Teach your child that revision is about being objective. A good reminder to the young writer is that revision isnt about tearing his or her work to shreds. Rather, revision is about improving an argument, strengthening an articles supporting points and making ones writing as good as it can be. Point out the good parts of your childs first draft before launching into a discussion of the areas that need work. Remind your child that good writing requires patience and practice. Most of all, encourage your child to view his or her work with fresh eyes during revision and to be open to new ideas throughout the process.
